""Give me words" 1st review!!!"

Tim Juillet
Here's something you don't normally see in contemporary Christian music: a former opera singer crossing over to the adult contemporary/pop style. Tim Juillet used to sing with various opera companies in Los Angeles, but now the happily married husband and father of two little girls is singing songs about Jesus on his new inspirational CD, Give Me Words.

One of Juillet's goals, as he worked with producer Patrick Andrew (of the late, great Christian rock band PFR) was to “lose the opera sound,” as he says on his myspace page. On Give Me Words, he does just that, trading it in for a theatrical, musical sound.

Imagine if tenor David Phelps had a slightly deeper voice and sang songs from the Broadway musical Rent, albeit with a Christian bent, and then you will have summed up the music on Give Me Words.

While songs like “Still I'll Worship,” featuring tenderly-played piano and warm strings, and “This Is God,” with its potent mix of ethereal organ, electric guitar, and drums, help enrapture the listener, it's the 9-minute opus at the end of the disc-- “Unimagined Glory”-- that's the reason to get this particular CD.

“Unimagined Glory” transcends typical music as it draws the listener into imagining what it's like entering heaven. At first, you'll hear some spoken Hebrew, followed by a heavenly harp, and then Juillet acts as a musical tour guide to what heaven might sound and feel like, complete with more guests showing up, including a children's choir and a soprano solo. If a church is ever looking for a unique song to present to its congregation, utilizing all of its singers, “Unimagined Glory” is a must-hear, must-perform song.

One more song of note on Give Me Words is the anthemic “America Repent,” which will have prayerful people waving their hands in the air at future political, patriotic, and/or Christian rallies all over the United States.

For fans of Ray Boltz in the Christian market, and Josh Groban in the mainstream, you need to add this versatile baritone's CD to your collection, as Tim Juillet provides a very encouraging, professionally-produced batch of heartfelt songs on Give Me Words.

Bio

Tim Juillet is a classically trained singer with a background in Opera as a working operatic baritone, majoring in music and vocal performance at Chapman University in Orange County, California. From 1992-1999, his experiences included singing professionally with Opera Pacific, Pacific Chorale, various church music positions and making many solo appearances, mostly in the greater Los Angeles area. Tim still sings classically today and recently made an appearance with the Sun City Chamber Orchestra in December, 2007, singing two of the Bass solos in the Handel Messiah. In 1999, Tim decided to take some time off from music. During his 6 years away, he felt a tremendous void in his life. After returning to singing again in 2005, he rediscovered his passion for music. After singing several times at his home church in early 2006, God opened up a door for Tim to take a songwriting class with Dove award winning songwriter Patrick Andrew, formerly of the band, PFR. Though Tim had never written songs in the past, he found a real passion for songwriting! After taking a 10 week songwriting class, he was given the opportunity to record a full solo project with Patrick Andrew as Producer. Tim & Patrick decided to meet in late October 2006 to go through potential songs. Though Tim had 7 or 8 songs he had written, Patrick thought only 1 of them, Better Days, was record worthy. Because recording was set to begin in January 2007, Tim now had the daunting task of writing a minimum of 9 more songs in 2 months!!! As he began to focus on this huge challenge, his prayer was for God to give him the words to say that would change hearts. Tim met with Patrick several times over the following 2 months and continued to work on his songs. With help from a couple of lyricists Tim met, he wound up writing a total of 13 additional songs that Patrick agreed to produce, including a 9 minute composition called Unimagined Glory/A Journey Through Heaven. Tim began recording in early January 2007 as scheduled and God began to renew him. In the 9 months Tim recorded his project, he lost 100 pounds. God had renewed his hope and joy. Tim is excited to have the awesome opportunity to share his ministry. God is awesome!!! Originally from Huntington Beach, California, Tim now lives in Surprise, AZ with his beautiful wife, Nichole, and two children, Victoria & Elizabeth.
