On August 18, 2007, I was travelling eight hours to Calgary Reggae International Festival with 5 band members- doing the Sweet Like Sugar tour in Canada. We were featured to perform but got stalled when our van overturned.
IBO the lead singer who I sang "Strong and Bless" with on my page broke his neck twice and had multiple brain damage. He was on life support for nine weeks but is off nowand in rehab.
The guitar player who sat beside me broke his back and the bass player broke his neck.
The keyboard player broke his pelvis, neck, ribs, lungs and was on life support for five weeks.
The drummer and I walked from the crash. I received back injuries, tore two ligaments in my neck, and cuts but was fine. I still made it to the festival in my blooded clothes to tell the crowd what went on and that brothers were in the hospital.
Yes! I'm blessed to be here today and I gives thanks.
"It is easier to get noticed in the music industry by singing bad, but I still choose good over evil. Let the world know my music is non violent and none-homophobic. It represents love and equally respects all humanity (black, white-you name it). I'm here to love not here to judge. All judgement belongs to the Almighty Creator."

Bio
Born in the parish of Westmoreland and then moving to Kingston7 Elleston Flats at an early age, Culture Brown found his start in reggae music as a member of the Black Star Sound System, opening the doors for him to become a powerful figure on the reggae scene.
As a roots and culture dancehall artist, Culture Brown’s lyrical content often sheds light on today’s world issues and gives hope for a better tomorrow. His promotion of equal rights and justice for all is clearly demonstrated in the lyrics of his track “Here To Love” when he says ‘I’m here to love, not here to judge….’ He stands firmly behind his lyrics as he extends his hand in friendship no matter what age, race, or sex.
Culture Brown’s musical journey has taken him as far as St. Lucia, Canada, England, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, France, and in his homeland Jamaica where he opened his own protools studio, Culture Brown Recording Studio, in Westmoreland. He has since also started up his own independent label Akeel Records.
Throughout his career thus far, Culture Brown has worked with such notable producers as Dennis Howard, Wally Frazer from Vizion Sounds, Fagan Fraternity, Sly & Robbie, Leggos Records, Jazzy B of Soul II Soul, and Mafia & Fluxy from the UK. He has shared the stage alongside Ziggi, Elijah, U Brown, Capleton, Mutabaruka, Freddie McGregor, Beenie Man, Tanto Metro & Devonte, Assassin, Mad Cobra, Junior Reid, Tinga Stewart, Richie Stephens, Natty King, Brinsley Forde (founder and former lead singer of Aswad), Maxi Priest, and most recently was reunited with Beres Hammond at the Calgary International Reggae Festival. He has also recorded tracks with artists such as Yami Bolo, Dennis Brown, JC Lodge, Junior Reid, Leroy Smart, Kongo Bones, Carl Dawkings, Delroy Wilson, Gundy Killa, Sizzla, and Ibo; most notably is his collaboration with one-time Grammy-nominated Beres Hammond entitled “Militancy”, the title track for his first full-length album. Culture Brown is also featured on Jahranimo’s album Praises, Zukie Joseph’s album People Get Up (Do It), and Ibo’s album It’s A Long Way.
Most recently, Culture Brown has released his highly anticipated double album Poor which is available for purchase on CD Baby and digitally on iTunes, Amazon and Napster.
