Azure Allele was formed in July of 2007 by Chris Ratterree, Jeb Mease, and Mike Lester. They had been playing together for several years in various bands and decided to start a new project. They found singer/songwriter Lyssa soon after and began writing away. After several months they added bassist Frank Becker and finally got the full sound they were looking for.
Azure Allele is a blend of "in your face" Rock/Electronica, with a female twist.
The band has many influences such as Coheed & Cambria, Portishead, Circa Survive, Metallica, and Lacuna Coil just to name a few.
Each member has different influences and life experiences that add to the creativeness of the music.
While Mike Lester stepped down from the role of lead vocals, he still plays an integral part on the microphone complimenting the twisted lyrics of Lyssa.
Hailing from New York, Lyssa writes both lyrics and melodies. Drawing on personal experiences, dreams, and twisted thoughts, her lyrics and voice are captivating against the background of a heavy rock sound.
