"Press Release"

The Bypass will release ‘The Ultimate Answer’ E.P. this summer.

The cd will be available on cd and also available for download on the interenet.

The songs “Best Friend” and “Hard To Fit” will be released July 2008 to the local K.C. area radio markets.

The music is a delight to the ears and acoustic in orientation. Sarah’s vocals pull you in as the lyrical craftsmanship from Jeremy Sharp weave a delicate balance of poignant thought and gentle words.

Formed in St. Joseph, Missouri in 2007, The Bypass creates acoustic music that wraps the deeper things of life into the infallible melodic knack. 2008’s ‘The Ultimate Answer’- the bands first independent release has and will continue to get great results from the greater Kansas City Metro area and into the entire Midwest.

The band is currently signed up with “Indie Community” and “Sonic Bids” for booking resources, and songs “Best Friend”, “Always There”, and “Hard To Fit” are in current rotation at HBN Radio, and KGNM 1270.

Bio

There is nothing typical about creativity. At its core is a kind of beautiful tension, an interesting journey from the norm that somehow reaches new ground. While listening to the acoustic pop band The Bypass, you feel as though you have arrived.

Sarah Orrick’s soothing vocals wash over you like candlelight and the authenticity of their songs is striking. Acoustic pop music has almost become a joke in recent years. The genre is overrun with musical mediocrity and clichéd lyrics, but as you listen to songs like “Hard To Fit” and “Best Friend,” you catch a glimpse of the possibilities of folk music. Songwriter Jeremy Sharp says it best, “Sarah's vocals are unique. She makes people want to listen to the words and music. She is the doorway into the stories that are there.”

The Bypass originated in 2007 during a chance meeting at a summer camp in Kansas. Sarah Orrick and Jeremy Sharp sat down after a few months and started rehearsing new music together, also bringing in mutual friend James Shumaker. Since then they have rounded out the group with Caleb Shaver on guitar, piano, and trumpet, and Bret Bourquin on bass. The band recently released their debut extended play called “The Ultimate Answer.” With influences like Regina Spektor, The Swell Season, and Ingrid Michaelson, the record is acoustic and raw, yet draws you in with powerful melodies.

However, The Bypass is about more than just making great music. As Jeremy says, “Our goals are not built around numbers or time frames, but rather around friendships and influence. The more we can share and sing, build strong friendships, and create lines of communication between where we visit, the more accomplished our goals become.”

So as The Bypass keeps pushing themselves to new places, fans of their music can keep enjoying the journey. And along the way they will find this music is a lot like life. It is authentic. It is unique. It is creative.
