"Jazz Elite"

"One of Nashville’s premier jazz vocalists… among the city’s jazz elite. An elegant stylist with a clear tone and an easy sense of swing, revealing just how much her songwriting has developed....” ~ Nashville Scene - Nashville Scene

"Stunning New Talent"

"Leading off with a note of infectious optimism, the title track heralds the sound of a stunning new talent. Sayre calls Nashville home, but she eschews Americana for the swoon and sway of a willowy, jazz-like caress. What's more, her clear, supple vocals make every song a standout"
- Performing Songwriter Magazine

"Elegantly Expressive"

Sayre’s elegantly expressive voice remains a subtle and sublime treasure, displaying a musicality that trumps the ever-present predictability of most modern singers…. She’s embraced a contemporary sound that fuses jazz phrasing with a relaxed, classic-pop melodicism.” - Nashville Scene

Bio

Rebecca Sayre touches her audiences with songs about innocence, real love and romance.  Original compositions shine and swing alongside Jazz gems inspired by Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Frank Sinatra, Jobim, Carmen McCrae and others.

Rebecca’s musical career began to take off when she started singing in Nashville’s acclaimed original swing band, BadaBing BadaBoom.  Later, her solo jazz standards debut, This is Always, recorded with veteran pianist Beegie Adair, reached the TOP 50 in the JazzWeek Album charts and earned praise from critics such as “Sayre’s phrasing is utmost perfection....”

Inspired by the likes of Eddie Jefferson and John Hendricks, Rebecca wrote lyrics to a Quincy Jones composition called “Count ‘Em”, a Count Basie hit.  The lyrical version of the song was named “Homecoming” and was recorded by Nashville’s Third Coast Vocals.

For her second release, Sayre picked up the guitar for the first time in several years and began writing with Eddie Mugavero, BadaBing’s prolific songwriter.  The partnership blossomed into her award-winning songwriting debut, New Girl, which blends together elements of jazz, blues and folk. Performing Songwriter Magazine named Rebecca as “…a stunning new talent.... every song a standout”.  The title cut was featured on Fox TV’s, So You Think You Can Dance.  In 2012, Sayre released the EP Play, which includes four lush tracks that subtly invite her distinct jazz stylings, and create a warm blend R & B and Jazz/Folk.

Most recently, Rebecca and Charlie Chadwick have created a bass & vocal duo which allows for uniquely intimate and inviting presentations of established material.
