Es imposible compararlos con algún otro grupo, y es porque son una fusión de tantos ritmos, que es casi imposible encasillarlos en uno. El género en el que se encuentran es conocido como música ecléctica, esa que cuenta con una variedad de ritmos y estilos, y en el caso del Kolectivo K tienen una influencia marcada de samba, rock, electrónica y diferentes ritmos latinos, que sumados, le dan ese toque único y pegajoso que los caracteriza.
Kolectivo K suena a nada de lo que haya escuchado antes, pero es precisamente esa característica la que hace que tengan el apoyo de las comunidades online, que tengan un grupo de fans comprometidos y que gente de Turquía, India, Indonesia e incluso Armenia (el país no la ciudad) siguan sus pasos, vean sus videos y escuchen sus canciones, dándole el visto bueno a este talento nacional.
Sin una gran parafernalia y con una mezcla de grandes talentos Kolectivo K es la muestra caleña para el mundo entero de música ecléctica, un sonido exclusivo que promete dar mucho más.

"Kolectivo "K" es un proyecto musical en el que se unen artistas de diversa índole de manera permanente o temporal, para la creación musical dentro del concepto del rock y la electrónica. Fusionándolo con elementos eclécticos como el jazz, la cumbia, el son, la salsa, el bossanova, el currulao, el vallenato, el reggaeton, el bolero, el tango y en fin, todo tipo de expresiones latinoamericanas con el fin de crear nuevas propuestas sonoras".
Entre las sorpresas para los asistentes, además del concierto, habrá CD orginales de la producción, llamada KK Fresh. “Kolectivo K” was created in 2007 when the Julian Pantoja's solo project called "K", showing himself as a multi- instrumentalist and composer of Electronic-Rock, was transformed into a band, but with the idea of giving artistic freedom to its members and their musical style without affecting the essence of the band.
“K” recorded his first LP called "Kharma Libido", after he took part in the campaign for a government against AIDS and drug addiction “Voz a la Tarima”, performing 2 songs: “Ultimo Acto” and “Cumbia Platanera”. This was the first song played on several local radio stations.
Since 2004, Pablo Pantoja has been linked as DJ, after volunteering as a sound engineer at several of their concerts. In 2005 Juan Carlos Quiceno, becomes a permanent member of the band playing the keyboards and the trumpet, and Juanita Peña is the female vocalist since 2007. So "K" was transformed into “Kolectivo K”, which temporary or permanent members get together to create music.
In 2006, they joined the project “La Rockomotora”: A compilation CD with the best rock bands of the city, with the song "Houdini". They performed at the Music Festival held in Medellin (2007) and in Cali (2008 and 2009) where they received excellent feedback from the audience. They also performed at the "Vuelta a Rockombia" organized by the Colombian magazine “Shock” (2008 and 2010).
In 2008 they release “KK Fresh” their first album as a band, a musical evolution to more eclectic, fun and latin. Demostrating that their music has no limits and reaching new and constant achievements in media.
Their songs have been played on radio stations and web stations USA, Argentina, Spain, Mexico, Australia and in Colombia in Radiónica, in the Top 20 of Radio Nacional de Colombia transmited in 28 colombian cities for 12 weeks and other radio stations around the country.
In 2009 they attended the LAMC (Latin Alternative Music Conference) in New York, looking to enrich themselves as musicians and reach a broader international audience.
In Colombia they have performed at several venues, bars, universities, parks and clubs in Cali, Bogotá, Medellín, Bucaramanga, Pereira and Popayán. Including Feria de Cali, Plaza de Toros Cañaveralejo and Fundacion Gilberto Alzate in Bogota. They were part of the 3rd Festival de la Musica Alegre in Piedecuesta sharing the stage with great bands such as La Etnnia, Velandia y la Tigra, Bambarabanda y Velo de Oza for an audience of 12,000 people. Also they play with The Mills in "Login concert" for Telepacifico nacional TV show.
In 2010 they released 2 videoclips “Drum'n Pale” and “Sol du Kali”, and organized a concert to help people from Haiti starring the best bands of Cali. They finished the year with their first international tour to Argentina releasing their EP: “Pa' Ya & Pa' K”, which was nominated for the Subterranica Awards in “Song of the year” and “Best EP”.
In 2011 they finished their 3rd LP with the 4 times Grammy nominee German Villacorta, who has worked with some of the best musicians in the world such as Ozzy Osbourne, Eva Ayllón, George Benson, Mick Jagger just to mention a few. For this album they have been nominated for the most relevant awards in Colombia “Premios Shock de la Musica” 2011 in the "BOOM DEL AÑO" category. And they were in the first list of candidates for the Latin Grammy 2011.
