And there is no doubt that it is really ,out of this world. A wild mix of cumbia and other dance rhythms and Latin Rock (even though we had already seen this is Argentinean and Spanish bands), but such energy we have seen in very few occasions.

And the start couldn't be better than with Rocola Bacalao, an energetic ska band from Ecuador. The nine members jumped around frantically while putting their heart and soul in their trumpets and guitars - which worked very contageous on the crowd at the Cahier Club stage. Their best songs mixed cumbia (and even merengue) with clever lyrics and an incredibly positive attitude - they just wanna have fun.

Fortunately, there was a change of attitude. When Rocola Bacalao (Ecuador) showed its ska with flavor of cumbia and punk, even the most metalhead applauded. Thanks to accessible humor and the humility of this band, the Sunday entered, finally, in its zone of tolerance.

With its fun-filled Latin fusion, its amazing 5-piece brass section, intelligent lyrics and great attitude, the Ecuadorian band will shake any stage and audience in the world.
With over 450 live shows played in the last 11 years, RoCola Bacalao has become one of Latin America’s fastest growing acts. Three European Tours (2008-2010) and their last record distributed in Europe, the USA and Japan with Übersee Records.

Con su divertida fusión latina, su asombrosa sección de 5 vientos, letras inteligentes y gran actitud, esta banda ecuatoriana sacudirá cualquier escenario y audiencia en el mundo.
Con más de 450 conciertos y 4 producciones discográficas en sus 11 años de historia, RoCola Bacalao se ha convertido en la banda con mayor proyección internacional del Ecuador y en una de las bandas con mayor proyección de Latinoamérica.
