Bio

GRANNYGEAR started in June 2009, from guitarist Brandon Cox having the desire to try a new sound. Mixing Rock & Metal with that Texas Twang of country Music yet retaining that Texas "Punch" similar to bands such as Pantera or Hellyeah. He got in touch with drummer Sean Gordon who had been succsessfull in Dallas playing with bands such as amystic and Echovibe with Progressive flavors knowing he had the skills to get a little heavier and was business minded as well as having a good inclination for Marketing. Vocalist, "Wild Bill" as he is known had been a close friend of Mr. Cox for sometime and always talked about starting a project together when the time was right. All they needed now was the perfect Bass Player with a no non-sense outlook. The goal more than anything was to find the right guys that would all be on the same page at the same time. Mr. Cox connected with a guy by the name of Donnie Selby on Craigslist, who had just moved to Dallas 1 week before from Grand Rapids Michigan. After asking Selby out, the second audition came around and everything just seemed to fall in place. This guy was golden and could write, sing and play like all the rest of us. Creativity for the long haul is alreay showing it's longevity. In just 4 months these 4 gentlemen already have enough content and ideas for 2-3 albums and the chemistry is the best out of any band before it. They set out now to dominate by force a market seemingly overcrowded and in need of something fresh and new. They have no plans on stopping anytime soon and are striving to be in view of anyone on the web, in front of a stage or in ears reach of an audible source. Texas has already embraced them, now it's the rest of the worlds turn.
