Dervla

Since writing and composing her first song at the age of 5 (having only 18 words but still very catchy!), music has always been an important part of Dervla's life. Her experiences have ranged from school musicals and choirs, singing/writing in bands to collaborating with hip-hop/rap artists, all along the way, building her experience with music styles and sounds.

As much of a passion as music was to her, it only remained a hobby growing up. After getting a university degree, rocking some business courses and starting her ‘life-long career path’ in commercial real estate she quickly realized this was not the right path for her. This could not be 'it'.

As a christmas present, her parents bought her studio time... not realizing what a ripple effect it would have. She was re-acquainted with, and had her eyes opened to, another career option... the music industry. She made the hard decision to leave it all behind and follow what would truly make her happy. For the first time ever, it was clear that this is what she wanted to do for the rest of her life.

Having now narrowed down and defined herself as a solo pop artist, and with the talent and aspiration for writing catchy hooks with infectious melodies, Dervla is currently working towards completing her first album while releasing singles along the way. Since beginning this pursuit, she has already had many accomplishments including having her song "Dare Me" used on the hit television series Degrassi and has worked with several established producers; including Arthur McArthur (Drake/ Kelly Rowland/ Lil Wayne/etc...) who continues the collaboration on new projects.

With a distinct voice that makes her music recognizable, Dervla is building the momentum with no plan to slow down.
