A surprising Album by Dudu Fisher combining Klezmer and Balkan music, with Dudu singing in Yiddish.
Yiddish was the communicating language between the European Jews East West North and south of Europe, (the Ashkenaz), and naturally in some Balkan countries, Dudu Fisher found the connection between the Eastern European Klezmer music to the trendy Balkan music.
Dudu Fisher chose to combine the two genres: Klezmer and Balkan music, similar to the sound tracks of Emir Kusturica, in some of the songs Dud Fisher is "skating" (using his voice as a musical instrument without lyrics) and in the rest of songs Dudu sings in authentic Yiddish, Fisher and his band are performing in Israel and around the world in this show called "the singing lklezmer" featuring songs from the new album.

In 2010 Dudu Fisher opened " The Singing Klezmer" in Israel with the Yiddish theater. This Klezmer show ran for 50 performances for over 50,000 people.
The CD “The Singing klezmer” was released in January 2010 and soon the DVD of the show will be released as well.
When the pope Benedict XV1 visited Israel in May 2009, Dudu was chosen to sing for him in a special event in president's Shimon Peres’s residence house.
In 2008 Dudu Fisher shot a TV show special for PBS in Israel in the Roman theater of Beit She’an near the Sea of Galilee. The show "Dudu Fisher Live in Concert" was seen by millions of viewers in over one hundred stations throughout the USA.
The Success of that show led to an east coast tour in the fall of 2009 including shows in venues such as Carnegie Hall-NYC, Symphony space-Boston to name a few.
and in December 2009 Dudu Fisher and his band performed for a special Holiday event at the Kremlin in Moscow
"Jerusalem" is a show created by Dudu Fisher and Barbara Chipurnoi, his personal manager. "Jerusalem" is a 90 minutes program with 17 songs in 6 languages showing footage of the holy city accompanied with stories about its fascinating history. The show opened in the Hamptons Synagogue NY in May 2007, It then played in Jerusalem (Henry Crown Auditorium) , Budapest (the great synagogue), Sao Paulo, Rio De Janeiro (KaleiKau Theatre) and Florida (Kravis Center Performing Arts). The CD is in its final stages of preparation and the DVD will be shot in Israel in the near future. All arrangements were written by Shai Bachar who has been working with Dudu Fisher as musical director for the past Nine years.
Dudu started his career as a professional cantor. He served as a cantor in the great synagogue of Tel Aviv and then in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Dudu is known throughout the world for his stirring performance as Jean Valjean in "Les Miserables", though his musical career was launched many years before he became known for this role. He was chosen by Cameron Mackintosh to play the role at the royal command performance for the queen of England.
In the late 1999, Fisher performed his first one man show in an off-Broadway theater in New York, Never On Friday. Lawrence Van Gelder of the New York Times called the show, “A display of a vocal talent that resists confinement”.
This show was soon followed by other one-man shows. Victor Gluck of Back Stage wrote of his one-man show, Something Old, Something New, “The energy that Fisher radiates on stage can light a small city”.
Dudu has released 36 CDs in his long career. His recordings ranges from various styles from show tunes with the London symphony orchestra to cantorial compositions as well as Yiddish, Israeli and Chasidic albums.
Today Dudu Fisher is spending most of his time "on the road" providing joy and inspiration to his fans around the world

Dudu Fisher, along with an exciting 8 piece “Klezmorim” band will take you on a journey emoting happiness and longing, sadness and laughter. The original and lively musical arrangements will suit lovers of folklore music of every generation around the world.
The unique band consists of 8 powerful virtuoso musicians with different backgrounds from around the world such as Serbia, Ukraine, Morocco, Israel, Russia and the USA.
These musicians each with their own individual careers and international recognition, were carefully chosen by musical director Shai Bachar and Dudu Fisher and assembled especially for this project.
In this show there is never a dull moment as Dudu Fisher combines his great vocal talents with his acting abilities and his virtuoso Cantorial techniques which make the show versatile and full of surprising nuances.
The show consists of about 12 songs and 2 Instrumentals. The songs are sung in Yiddish which is the language that the Jews of Eastern Europe spoke. Yiddish is not only a language, it is also a culture.
In the early years of the twentieth century the Yiddish language was flourishing. The traditions of Yiddish and Yiddish theatre were found on every street corner on the lower east side of New York with many theaters hosting actors, comedians and singers that were the foundation of today’s Broadway musicals. Unfortunately, today this language is fading away.
“The singing klezmer” is not only reviving this rich tradition but is also connecting it to today’s trend of eastern European music groups such as Goran Bregovic, The Klezmatics and the Balkan Beat Box. This show’s combination of Yiddish, Klezmer and Eastern European Gypsy styles of music create a unique and memorable musical experience.
