it’s been a good week for arveene and misk. they’ve just been announced for electric picnic, they tore transmission a new one last night, and on top of this they’ve put out their new single eavesdropper on bang gang 12 inches (link is definitely nsfw, so you know). the track is a pounding slab of electro, heaving and pulsating with angry synths and unexpected chord progressions. it’s a pretty hefty piece of work, and i imagine i’m going to hear a lot of it over festival season. there are also some perfect-fit-for-different parties-remixes from cassette jam (which goes even harder) and audiofun (which makes it a techy affair, without losing any of the original’s crunch). you can buy them all here or here, and there’s also a powerfully subtle remix of hystereo

Eavesdroppers seldom hear anything good of themselves, but for Arveene & Misk the past year has been nothing but amazing for the duo from Dublin. Today sees the release of their latest single 'Eavesdropper'. Eavesdropping is seen to as unethical, shady, dishonourable, disreputable, unscrupulous and not really cricket. All these adjectives help sum up the feeling you get after one listen of the single, a sense that you’re not alone and each time time after that your feel the need to do a sneaky check over your shoulder because you don’t want anyone to hear this gem of a track you have in your possession.
Eavesdropper is a dark techno track with drum machines that have the jitters and a bass that slowly creeps it way up and down throughout. But being a new single we can’t just give it away for free, what we do have however is a bonus remix for you all to enjoy. We’ve been big fans of Dublin duo Arveene & MiSK for a while now, ever since we heard their massive track “Hells Bells” last year. They are also one of a ever decreasing circle of outfits who still make quality dirty electro tunage (they don’t make bangers like they used too…).
