"So I Love"

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Billy Bauer is a self taught singer/songwriter who has played some of the most prestigious music festivals in America. He has a huge following in the Lehigh Valley. And he performed his new single So I Love on 69 News at Sunrise for Music Monday. - WFMZ Channel 69 News

"So I Love Review"

Seven years after the release of 2011’s full length “Maybe Tomorrow,” Billy Bauer Band returned with new music this summer with the long-anticipated single, “So I Love.”

The band tracked the single — a fan favorite at live performances — at MilkBoy the Studio in Philadelphia, funding the project with support of its vast regional fanbase via GoFundMe. Now available on digital platforms everywhere, “So I Love” is a fast-moving, nostalgic slice of acoustic rock written in memory of Bauer’s late father. The single features a strong, rugged vocal and infectious melody from Bauer, harmonized in the refrain with the electric violin of Chris Lorenzetti, which shines in its ambiance throughout the track.

Those who pick up the single (or stream it digitally) will notice that they get some bang for their buck. The band included three live tracks from its 2014 opening performance for platinum-selling alt rockers Third Eye Blind, including renditions of “Maybe Tomorrow” cuts “Front Yard” and “Birdman,” as well as a version of “You Never Know” from 2006’s “Another Day is Coming.”

"Strumming On Success"

"The Billy Bauer Band is on a sure path of success which is only getting brighter each calendar year, touting performances on NBC 10, opening up for OAR and Uncle Kracker (just to name a few notable performances). This acoustical band is destined on a path to notoriety and NOTHING is going to stop them from achieving any goals they set." - — Nyce Jones (Echo Magazine)

"Billy Bauer Band at Musikfest Café At ArtsQuest Center"

"Just the opposite of all that was true of Bethlehem-based opening act Billy Bauer band, playing as an acoustic guitar-and-violin duo of Bauer and Chris Lorenzetti.

Their sparse instrumentation ended up being stark when called for, but also rich and dynamic, as well.

In an eight-song set, the duo found the right balance on every song, playing sharp and nuanced. Even when the closing “Better Days” finished with a cacophony of the two instruments, with Bauer’s voice punching through it, it was compelling stuff.

The full band is scheduled to open for jam rockers O.A.R. at The Rave in Milwaukee, Wisc., on Feb. 10." - — Posted by John J. Moser (Lehigh Valley Music Blog)

"Meet the Band: Billy Bauer Band"

Bauer says he didn't intend on being a musician. That changed when he bought an acoustic guitar, and following the advice of his father, he turned sorrow into songwriting.
"His last words to me were: And Billy keep playing acoustic guitar, you sound really good at it."
Bauer began jamming with Lorenzetti, forming the foundation of the band in 2006. Five years and two albums later, the group released their third LP, "Maybe Tomorrow," earlier this month.
"It kind of just happened," Bauer says of his musical journey. "I'm just going with the flow." - — By Dustin Schoof (The Express-Times)

Bio

ased in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, the Billy Bauer Band was founded by Biuer (vocals, guitar) and Chris Lorenzetti (electric violin, piano) in 2006.  They began as an acoustic duo, and evolved to incorporate the solid rhythm section of Drew Somers (percussion) and Steve Zalalas (bass).

Within just a few months of their first show in 2006, the band landed a spot in one of the most prestigious independent music festivals in the world- the “CMJ Music Marathon” (New York, NY).  They have gone on to play some of the largest festivals and venues in the nation, including Musikfest (Bethlehem, PA), Arts Fest (State College, PA), Coca Cola Park (Allentown, PA), Bryce Jordan Center (State College, PA), Bitter End (New York, NY), Living Room (New York, NY), Listening Room (Nashville, TN), The Rave (Milwaukee, WI), Levitt Pavilion (Bethlehem, PA) and more.  As their reputation grew, they were booked as an opening act for top billboard artists: Third Eye Blind, Young the Giant, Phillip Phillips, Grammy winner: Blues Traveler, Tim Reynolds (of Dave Matthews Band), Pete Francis (of Dispatch), O.A.R (Of A Revolution), Uncle Kracker, Grammy nominee Mary Lambert, and others.

After a career threatening vocal surgery sidelined the band for all of 2015, the following year they were right back at it.  2016 was filled with new music and great shows capped with spots with Blues Traveler and Tim Reynolds (of Dave Matthews Band).  2018 delivered their their highly anticipated latest single "So I Love" and an opening slot with Young the Giant at Levitt Pavilion.  In 2019 the band hit the studio again, dropped a new Live album, performed live on Radio 104.5 Philadelphia, and landed a massive opening slot on the main stage of Musikfest, the nation’s largest free music festival, with pop rock star Phillip Phillips!
