Bio

The Paul Connors Organ Trio performs original compositions in addition to thoughtful reinterpretations of R&B and Soul classics from masters Stevie Wonder, Curtis Mayfield, James Brown, Shuggie Otis and many more which are featured on the trio's debut CD Soulphonic. The trio’s live repertoire also includes a wide variety of jazz standards, the odd-Beatles tune, and of course some down-home blues taken from the classic organ trio canon of artists such as Jimmy Smith, Jack McDuff, Larry Young, Dr. Lonnie Smith, and Don Patterson. Whether the trio are playing elements of what may be considered blues, r&b, soul, funk, jazz, or gospel the trio are locked into the pocket - it’s all about the groove.

Will Van Sise - guitar

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Will was drawn to music at a very young age. Through the influence of his family’s record collection William started learning guitar at age nine, and never looked back. After a short stint at Five Towns College of Music he arrived in New Orleans, seeking to further study the roots of American music.

William’s musical appreciation and aptitude span from the genres and subgenres of Soul, Jazz, Blues and Country.  He has performed all over the United States and Europe as a sideman.

After a devastating accident in 2008 and the fear of never being able to play music again, Will dedicated his life and energy even more so to his passion: music. Not only playing and performing but teaching and mentoring as well.

With strong improvisational skills he is never afraid of taking musical chances. Exciting, emotional and soulful are a few words to describe Will's playing. Playing with the Paul Connors Organ Trio gives him the ultimate freedom to express.

William lives with his wife and two boys in Westchester New York.

You can see him weekly performing with A Decade of Soul, the house band at B.B. King’s Blues Club in Times Square, NYC.
