""Trust Him" - BATAYAH From the CD Simply BATAYAH"

Contemporary gospel singer BATAYAH brings the laidback swagger and confidence of neo-soul to her performance of “Trust Him.”

Like a good friend offering practical advice, BATAYAH tells you to keep the faith, no matter what your trial may be, whether a death in the family, personal health issues, economic woes, or unemployment. “Don’t give up,” she sings. “It’s just a test.”

The singer, whose name means “Daughter of Yahweh,” was born in North Carolina, has earned bachelors and MBA degrees, and served in the U.S. Armed Forces. She was recently nominated in two categories by the South Florida Gospel Music Awards (SFGMA): Best Female Contemporary Artist and for Best Gospel Album (Simply BATAYAH). - The Black Gospel Blog

Bio

BATAYAH has an uplifting urban and soulful sound as her music is exactly like she is: very unique, gifted and anointed. BATAYAH is a singer, songwriter, composer and producer, who began singing at the tender age of 4 years old, in her home church choir and has been singing ever since.

BATAYAH was honored to perform on the Bobby Jones Gospel Word Network Television Show in March 2011, as well as receive seven music award nominations from the following organizations: The South Florida Gospel Music Awards (SFGMA) and The Hollywood Music In Media Awards (HMMA) both in November 2011 as well as The Rhythm Of Gospel Awards (ROG) slated for July 2012.

She has sang every genre of music from rock and roll, country, folk and classical in school choirs and musical plays, to r&b, funk, neo-soul, big band and her roots, which is gospel, at home, in groups, church choirs, quartets and as a soloist.

BATAYAH has written a variety of songs and her talent and ability to write and arrange songs is displayed in her previous self-titled project and her new release entitled “Simply BATAYAH”. The songs are beautiful with a unique urban and neo soul sound, not to mention they are meaningful and uplifting as BATAYAH’s music uplifts the spirit and the soul!

BATAYAH was born to a family of five, with determined and hardworking parents, who struggled to put all of their children through Private School, so that she and her siblings would know how to pray, lean on the Father's word and sing songs of praise and thanksgiving.

BATAYAH has received two college degrees a BS and an MBA as well as served as an Officer in the US Armed Forces. She is truly humbled and thankful for her anointed gift because she knows who she is and what she was put here to do!
