Artist Information Biography "Caravan Gogh's style is thought-provoking, demands attention, and weaves an intricate tapestry of sound with hope, light, and introspection." Caravan Gogh has created a new, original music featuring the unique collaboration of cello, ukulele, guitar and bass.  The result is a diverse musical experience drawing from rock, swing, jazz, surf and classical.  Caravan Gogh was formed in late 2005 and in the fall of 2007, Sneakers, from our debut CD, went national as a featured cut in Sing Out! magazine and was included on the accompanying subscriber CD.  The band has twice appeared on Oregon Pubic Broadcasting's popular Oregon Art Beat television program, and was recently profiled in The Oregonian's "Band In A Box" feature.  Caravan Gogh features nationally known cello innovator Gideon Freudmann.  In addition to his work with Caravan Gogh, Freudmann has a successful solo career and has been featured on NPR's Weekend Edition.  He is also a member of the Portland Cello Project. Jim D'Ville is on the forefront of the Ukulele Revolution.  Jazz ukulele legend Lyle Ritz calls Jim's right hand strums "wicked". Brad Price  is equally adept on acoustic and electric guitar, adding dazzling streaks of bluegrass, surf, rock and swing to our already diverse musical stew. He has a degree from MIT, so he thinks as fast as he picks. Calen Uhlig grew up in a musical family and was in a working band by the eighth grade.  Calen not only holds down the low end tones for the band, he is an incredible soloist on his five-string electric.  "For a music lover, listening to Caravan Gogh is a little like taking a trip around the world in a time machine."
