Artist Information Biography In the misty hills of a small town called Maleny, in the back of a motorcycle workshop, sits a man and his guitar penning songs of love gained, love lost, and the mysterious and sometimes cruel irony of life's journey. Kel Cork - Guitarist, Singer, Songwriter, Mechanical Engineer, was born on the back of a bulldozer in a town where the locals sit in the trees to protest the conglomerate shopping centres from coming to town. The Rain was formed after years of playing in covers bands in local bars. They decided to go for broke and play their own original music. Their self titled debut album released in 2005 has been well received, gaining airplay on ABC and community radio. As the distinction between Country and Mainstream Rock music becomes more and more obscured, The Rain have discovered a niche, an amalgam of some of the best aspects of traditional styles, a masterful melding of Rock, Country and Blues. Add soulful presentation reminiscent of the American West Coast sound of the early seventies, and powerful lyrics that capture your heart. The boys are currently putting the finishing touches to their second album ‘One More Shot’. Major influences are The Eagles, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Led Zeppelin, John Mayer, The Flood, Big House, Counting Crows, Robben Ford, Ray charles. The Rain have been appearing at Festivals and venues, including The Gympie Music Muster, Tamworth Country Music Festival, Noosa Music Festival, Mud Bulls and Music Festival and Mutdapilly Music Muster.
