Artist Information Biography Press Release: REILLY - SIGNED TO OGLIO RECORDS OF LOS ANGELES!!!! HOLIDAY ALBUM "KICK ASS CELTIC CHRISTMAS" RELEASED OCTOBER 21st, 2008!!!!! Milwaukee Celtic-Rock band, REILLY, is pleased to announce the release of “Kick Ass Celtic Christmas” on Oglio Records of Torrence, CA. The album will be available online and in retail stores on October 21st, 2008. Melding familiar holiday standards with the high energy Celtic-Rock that REILLY has become known for throughout the Midwest, “Kick Ass Celtic Christmas” also features a trio of REILLY original compositions including the hilarious “Dear Santa (I Can Explain)”; the touching “Bells Over Boston”; and “For You On Christmas”, a tribute to our troops fighting overseas. “Kick Ass Celtic Christmas” is the follow up to the band’s 2007 release “Saints of the Ocean”, and also serves as the debut album with new label Oglio Records (Beatallica, Nerf Herder, George Lopez, etc). Recorded (somewhat ironically) by Shane Olivo throughout the summer of 2008, the album also features guest performances by Milwaukee musical mainstays Chris Conrad, Mitch Cooper, Matt Ostlund, John Steffes, members of the Mighty Lumberhorn, and nationally renown bag-piper Kimberly Siegel. According to vocalist/guitarist Michael “Tinker” Tierney, “Reilly has built a name for ourselves by blending Celtic heritage with modern rock energy. “Kick Ass Celtic Christmas” gives us a chance to share our sound with an audience that possibly wouldn’t be exposed to what we do on their own, and at the same time allows Celtic music fans to celebrate the Holidays with the music they’ve always known, but finally mashed up with the music they love.” For more information, go to: www.oglio.com/webs/pages/artists/ReillyKickAssCelticChristmas www.reillyrocks.com www.myspace.com/reillyrocksirish Biography: Formed in 2001, Milwaukee-based Reilly has been - through music - keeping the spirit of Celtic culture alive all over the Midwest. The group’s second album, “Saints of the Ocean”, marks a step forward for the group, which started as nothing more than a small pub band looking to have some laughs. Seven years later, the band is one of the premier musical draws in Southeastern Wisconsin, having been featured at local musical hot spots such as Irishfest, Potawatomi’s Northern Lights Theater, River Rhythms, the Milwaukee Ale House, and the Westown Association’s annual Sham- Rock St. Patrick’s Parade Day event. Reilly consists of Michael “Tinker” Tierney on guitar and vocals; Bruce Troeller on accordion, banjo, mandolin, and vocals; Brian Bruendl on drums and vocals; Kimberly Unger on fiddle and vocals, and newest member, Joe Neumann on bass guitar and vocals. Self produced and recorded by the band and multi-instrumentalist Troeller, “Saints of the Ocean” picks up where the band’s debut, “Beyond the Pale”, left off. The album showcases the new level of musical diversity and songwriting maturity that the band has learned from supporting and performing with numerous Celtic musical legends such as Gaelic Storm, Luka Bloom, the Young Dubliners, Carbon Leaf, and countless others. Chock-full of songs written by local musical kingpin, “Tinker” Tierney, “Saints of the Ocean” straddles the line between the traditional Celtic “jigs and reels” heard in Irish pubs, and the inspired punk anthems of the Pogues and Flogging Molly. The album also features the debut of music written by Patrick Moores and Bruce Troeller, each bringing their own musical taste and talent to the “shepherds pie” of sound that is the band’s sophomore effort. Not content with just being an “album band”, Reilly’s live shows are where the group truly shines. Mixing humor with non-stop energy, audience members are treated to a foot stompin’, raucous, hollerin’ good time. The stage is Reilly’s natural habitat, and the reason for the lion’s share of acclaim the band has received, mixing their high energy originals with traditional and contemporary covers specially “de-ranged” by Reilly for maximum audience enjoyment. Looking forward, the band seeks to expand the scope of their music, seeking to travel and take its musical message around the country and around the world in 2008. The band's signing to Oglio Records in April of 2008 marks another huge step forward in spreading the Reilly "seed". Stay tuned and be sure to come out to your local Irish pub or St. Patrick’s week event - chances are you’ll be seeing Reilly there, having a great time, and seeking to bring you along with them.
