Biography
The old adage is true: history repeats itself.  As cliche as it sounds, music is no different, and this is a fact that Steve Schultz understands completely. Through the use of superb songwriting and genuine musicianship (instead of the latest technology), he produces an authentic sound that is severely underrepresented in current “popular” music: passionate and exciting, without the excess and pretension of the music industry.

In December 2006, Steve Schultz entered GaluminumFoil Productions in Brooklyn, NY, to record his debut album, 'A Thin Line.'  Sparked by the music of The Beatles and Bruce Springsteen, and armed with a clear vision for his music, Steve was joined by engineer/guitarist Jeff Berner (Chris Cubeta & the Liars Club, Busticate), bassist Seth Rivers (Logan, Arcoda, Levon Helm, Busticate), saxophonist Owen Sczerba (Busticate), drummer Chris Snykus (Jupiter Sunrise, Perfect Thyroid), and keyboardist Matt Wiltrout.  Recorded over the course of 5 1/2 months, ‘A Thin Line’ is a collection of songs full of power and poise, and was released in August 2007.

Since the release of A Thin Line, Steve has consistently gained new fans and sold more CDs with every show.  And even though every CD purchased from Steve Schultz carries a 14-day money back guarantee, not one has been returned.  He has received radio airplay on multiple independent and college radio stations, and he has been the featured guest on 'Regional Frequency,' WVKR’s local music showcase.  Since May 2008, Steve has: participated in the 3rd annual Columbia Arts Team Songwriting Festival featuring Paul Leka ("Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye," "Green Tambourine") and Jeff Silbar ("Wind Beneath My Wings"); appeared as a featured guest artist on "Poughkeepsie Live," Time Warner Cable 6’s weekly local music show; been selected for and competed in the 2008 Williamsburg Live Songwriter Competition in Brooklyn, NY; participated in ASCAP New York Sessions with Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter Rob Thomas; and attended the 2009 ASCAP "I Create Music" Expo in Los Angeles featuring an array of music stars and heavyweights.  Currently, he is immersed in a new recording project.

As a live performer -- both with his band, The Static Hard, or as a solo/acoustic act -- Steve brings an energy and excitement to his performances that resonates with listeners from all walks of life.  Please visit the "calendar" section of this EPK for upcoming and past performances.
