Biography ***TOUR AND MEDIA DATES TO BE ANNOUNCED SHORTLY*** Best Female Solo Artist Australia Farita represents a new generation in music. Farita's tracks have enjoyed success in a variety of independent & international online charts and it won't be long until this girl is a household name. Farita's debut album aptly named "The Journey Begins", (due late 2009), marks the beginning of an international music career for Farita and a beautiful journey for her fans - we guarantee you, you won't be disappointed. Find out more now… Farita was not the kind of child that dreamt of superstardom or of great fame. She was just a regular kid who sang in choirs and had fun. At age eleven she was awarded a scholarship to study the clarinet which she continued for two years. When high school began, the choirs and the clarinet fell into the background as her parents wanted her to focus on academics. It was a very difficult period for her trying to balance being a normal "Aussie" teenage girl and a traditional, conservative Indian girl. Music became an outlet where she could just "be herself". As her parents expected university followed but Farita realized her true passion was music. A streak of independence saw Farita begin vocal coaching with Lucy D'Olimpio of Harmony School of Voice and Music who saw her talent and encouraged her to pursue her dream. Her first experiences with the industry were harsh when naive and new to the music industry Farita signed to a now defunct record label. The cruel reality of the business set in. For the first time a hint of doubt set in. Were her parents right about this "music nonsense"? Was it just a waste of time? Against the tide of advice, Farita continued to perform live and soon through an advertisement in a local music magazine she was introduced to UK writers and producers "Cube"- Dean Hopkins and a co-writer he worked with at the time. Farita recorded several tracks with Cube. "Boyfriend", which went to # 1 on the mp3.com.au charts as well as performing their track "Be What U Wanna Be" in Melbourne, Australia as a finalist out of nearly 150 acts in a national competition. The tracks also received airplay. Soon after this collaboration Cube disbanded. Farita saw an opportunity to have more input in her music and career and approached Hopkins with the idea of an Indian/R&B project. Their first collaboration, "Don't Tell Me That You're Sorry" reached #2 on the mp3.com.au charts and remained in the R&B top 20 for over a year. Her persistence has paid off with her tracks enjoying huge success on various independent and online music charts. Her music has been in the USA Broadjam.com Charts including the Pop Top 10, Contemporary R&B Top Ten, Production Top 10, Female Vocal Top 10, Australian Top 10 , California Top 10, and more - often with two tracks dominating a single Top Ten chart at any one time. She has also had several #1 hits on the Broadjam charts. Farita has also been a nominee in the prestigious Australian WAMi Awards. Twice voted Best Female Solo Artist Australia in the International Music Aid Awards, (2006 & 2007), Farita was asked to write and perform the beautiful Official Theme Song, "The Light" to open the 4th World Zoroastrian Youth Congress held in Victoria, Australia. It was a great moment for Farita who is proud of her Zoroastrian culture and heritage. The event brought youth from all over the world to Australia's shores. With her star on the rise, this musical talent has been noticed by the renowned Trance Producer Ronski Speed, UK's DJ and Radio Host - Bobby B, and up and coming Australian producer Suki D who have all collaborated with her on various music projects. Recently Farita added producer to her list of skills after writing, performing and producing three Hindi songs for her first independent film project with Asopa Films Inc. and Twinkle Productions, “The Taste of Relation”, releasing end of 2009. There are also plans for a collaboration with Kenz Desai, America's foremost Asian Music Producer who has worked with Bollywood’s music superstars Sonu Nigam, Udit Narayan and Bally Sagoo to name a few. Working between Australia and the USA and now represented by the US Company, Bella's House of PR, the future for this artist is looking bright. Keep your eye on this girl.
