Artist Information Biography Brent is a two-times finalist in the International Songwriting Competition. ‘Treasure Box’ (currently entered in Acoustic) was just recently awarded First Prize for Ballad of the Year in the Australian Songwriting Contest. He has also had multiple wins in the Tasmania/New Zealand Songwriting Awards, TSA SEQ National Songwriting Competition and the Northern Territory Songwriting Awards. He is a semi-finalist in the UK Songwriting Contest, a three-times finalist in the Australian National Country Songwriting Contest and recently received an Honourable Mention in the Billboard World Songwriting Contest. With an extensive catalogue spanning several genres including comedy, Australiana, country, ballads and jazz Brent is a prolific writer and is actively seeking publishing deals, co-writes and marketing opportunities. Over twenty songs from Brent’s catalogue have been signed for single-song publishing agreements with MPM. As well as working as a soloist and in several duos and trios, Brent performs in the role of Kris Kristofferson in Australia’s Highwaymen Tribute Show. ‘To be a Highwayman’, co-written with fellow show members Paul Mostyn and Dail Platz, is slated to be recorded later this year. The song is a tribute to The Highwaymen. Instrumentation Barbed Wire is Brent Lillie (vocals, guitar, harmonica), Paul Harris (vocals, guitar, bass) and Jennifer Matthews (vocals, percussion). Additional members can also include Paul Mostyn, Dail Platz and Adrian Stuckey.
