Artist Information Biography General Info: Aimee Norwich, a multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer and instrument designer, is devoted to creating positive, transformative experiences for listeners through recorded productions and live performances. She works as a soloist, as a collaborator, and has a mini-orchestra. Aimee plays a Hybrid Bass/Guitar, which she invented, Fretless Electric Bass, and Electric Bass, along with various FX pedals and loop stations. Aimee is currently playing summer shows with her mini-orchestra. Multi-Instrumentalist: Aimee plays Hybrid Guitar/Bass (description below), Electric Bass and Fretless Electric Bass. She plays solo as well as in bands. In the studio and at live performances one of Aimee's inventions, Hybrid Guitar/Bass, a hybrid ¾ guitar and ¼ bass instrument sounds like a bass, keyboard and guitar all in one instrument. This invention required Aimee to develop a new playing technique and unconventional tuning to achieve the final result, the performance of a guitar, synthesizer and a bass player coming from one person simultaneously. Here is a nice quote from synth-pop legend Howard Jones: "I came across a fascinating musician today, [Aimee] plays bass but makes it sound like a million different instruments…". Producer: Aimee produces, records and mixes her music, as well as other artists’ music, in her studio in Brooklyn, NY. She built many of the electronics that she uses, such as microphones and preamps. Composer: Aimee has composed music, ranging from power pop, rock anthems to string orchestrated instrumental works. Aimee composes for film, dance and movement, cd projects and more. You can listen to her music on her website at www.aimeenorwich.com. Mini-Orchestra Personnel and Bios: C.
