Artist Information Biography Her vocals are soaring, passionate, and warm, which mirror the emotions of her words. At only twenty three years old, Blair Hansen exhibits the wisdom and perspective of a woman who has already experienced much in life. Blessed with a crystalline, transcendent voice and a startling ability to write deeply moving lyrics, Hansen is among San Francisco's most promising talents. Blair’s music and effervescent persona, showcase the heart of a young artist who has already found her own style and place in a music world cluttered by artificiality. Blair Hansen's feelings are felt through each shimmering note of her acoustic guitar and the unguarded sincerity of her vocals. Hansen observes life with an unblinking eye and a poet's ear. From the radiant glow of her debut album to the sun-drenched energy of her sophomore album "Smile", there is no doubt that her upcoming album “Wandering Soul” will be electrically brimming with timeless charm, unapologetic edge and songs that will keep you humming for days. Blair Hansen got her start vocally in classical music at the age of nine where she trained for six years. After receiving many accolades in classical vocal music from California University music professors, the teen years brought on the urge for her to pick up the guitar and express herself through original material. It only took less than a year for Blair to write and record her first full length debut album-released when she was only fourteen. With the support of her father and manager, Steve Hansen, Blair was accompanied by a full band of professional musicians (Daren Wilkerson, Clay Bigham and Scotty Robertson) who helped showcase her talents in and around the San Francisco Bay Area and the entire West Coast. A few noted performances include; sharing the stage with Susan Tedeschi in Golden Gate Park, opening for Dar Williams and Girlyman at San Francisco’s historic Fillmore and a performance on San Francisco’s Main Stage for their annual Pride Festival. The momentum grew and attention flourished as fans eagerly awaited Blair’s sophomore album “Smile” released when she was eighteen. She further showcased her music at South By South West in Austin, Texas, a slew of radio stations and international compilation CDs and was contacted by many magazines and newspapers for stories-Curve Magazine, San Francisco Chronicle, Daily Review, Diablo Magazine, Datebook, Singer Magazine (to name a few). Hansen also won San Francisco’s Bands 4 Bands Award for Best Vocalist of the Year. Now twenty three years young, Blair is also composing original scores and music for movies and documentaries such as Hannah Free, starring Sharon Gless (Burn notice, Nip Tuck, Queer as Folk, Cagney and Lacey). Her new album “Wandering Soul” is set to be released on November 21st 2009 and will be available on iTunes and Cdbaby.com.
