Biography
Chest Rockwell consists of Josh Hines (vocals, guitar), Nick Rouse (drums), Nick Stewart (bass, keyboard), and Seth Wilson (guitar). The band was formed in Bowling Green, KY in July of 2004 by long time friends and previous musical partners Josh, Nick, and Stewie (adding Seth in the fall of 2005).
After releasing various promo CDs for a year and half, the band finally released their first album "Back to Square One" December 20th, 2005. It was literally a year in the making as recording sessions were in different studios starting in Fall 2004 and finishing up in the Summer of 2005. Before its actual release, Seth Wilson joined in October 2005 and the band immediately started working on new material. "Back to Square One" was released to fairly good critical response and saw the band start to change musical directions.
In July of 2006 Chest Rockwell reconvened to record their second album which would be 8 songs all combining together to create a giant piece of music lasting over 40 minutes. The album, titled "Chest Rockwell Vs. The World", was recorded in 3 days at the end of July 2006 but would not see an official release until March 2nd, 2007. The album has received great reviews (and still is) from various magazines, music websites, and radio stations not only in America but also across Europe.
During the course of 2007 the band recorded a couple of newer songs and released a sampler CD titled "Flavor" that features a new track from the upcoming 3rd album.
In June and July of 2008 Chest Rockwell recorded their 3rd album to be titled "Total Victory" with a release date t.b.a. 2008. The album consists of 9 songs and the band feels that it is the best work that they are currently capable of, being a culmination of everything they've learned and experienced the last 4 years.
Although the band has never slacked on playing tons and tons of shows each year, they've still found time to write some quality, original music and they're always looking for new ways to reach out to new listeners. Chest Rockwell is very optimistic about the future and have sworn themselves to making meaningful music regardless of not having record label support. This is about creating something intelligent, yet accessible and reaching out to as many people as possible.
