Biography
Brian Mannix was raised by music.  From the age of 4, after getting Diabetes and experiencing his parents divorce, Mannix found a connection in song that he could find nowhere else.  In music he found a companion with whom he could share every emotion.  It was in that year, that Brian was hooked.  From his first 45 of, interestly enough, Rhinestone Cowboy, to the sounds of Billy Joel, The Beatles and Bruce Springsteen, who left the most indelible impression, Mannix has been soldered to the words, music and emotion that rock and roll inspires.

While there was a constant yearning to be on stage, it wasn't until attending college at Bucknell University that Mannix was to first experience the true excitement of performing in front of hundreds of people.

After graduating with a dual major in Religion and Politcal Science, Mannix set out to embark on his musical career.  Moving to Brooklyn, he joined up with some talented musicians to form the band 42 wetmen.  With originals that immediately hit with fans, 42 wetmen began to make an impact on the NYC scene.  After performing in all of the local NYC hotspots, opening for such bands as Smash Mouth, Cake, Lusciuos Jackson, and Modern English, appearing on NY1 TV and WLIR Radio with their hit song Restless Confusion, the band eventually broke up as other life events took center stage.

Marriage and kids were next for Mannix.  He took a break from playing out, went to graduate school, became a 7th grade social studies teacher in Great Neck, Long Island and co-wrote a highly acclaimed musical drama which was performed in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

After 5 years of teaching, several years of political activism and three beautiful boys later, Mannix is back to his life's work:  writing and performing songs.  Songs that make a difference.  Songs that make a connnection.  Songs that tatoo memories in the mind of the listeners and stamp their experiences with music.  That is the goal of The Mannix Project.

Now it is time to take it to the next level.  Now, he is ready to bring his brand of socially conscious music filled with strong hooks, solid melodies and powerful lyrics throughout New York and across the country.

Peace and Pay it Forward!
