Biography Deep as Dylan, a uniquely un-radio radio star. Bud Buckley is a critically acclaimed singer/songwriter, booking huge festivals like Musikfest 2009 and Orion Independent Music Fest, Park City, Utah to kick off the Sundance Film Fest. Bud was number one for ten weeks on London's Loneboystore.com radio chart. He still fits perfectly in your venue, whether it's a living room, a festival concert or anything in between. Muse's Muse critic Chris Propfe says "Bud Buckley makes the kind of music that I want to hear when I listen to the radio, and that's why I don't listen to the radio. It's very rare to hear an actual singer/songwriter on the dial these days, and that's a shame, because I'm a huge fan. Well, Bud Buckley's bringin' it and he's adding something new to the mix." Musesmuse.com. At the end of his New York tour, Mike Pozit, owner of showcase indie venue Dockside Pub said, "Dockside Pub is a Indie music venue located 40 miles north of New York City. Bud Buckley has performed here and we hope to book him on his next northern road trip. Bud performs his original material as well as some very interesting covers. He is totally professional and very easy to work with. Please do not hesitate to call for any additional info." Mike Pozit, Dockside Pub (845) 621 0057 And Ellen Aldridge, editor of Target Audience Magazine said, "Experience sets apart the dreamers from the hopeless romantics, and with an education in journalism this guitar teacher, Bud Buckley, combines all the necessary facets to write moving songs. He writes universally about ideas which speak to individuals without being cliché." Creative Loafing said, "Buckley's debut effort is a sincere set of acoustic folk rock, elevated by mature arrangements and the self-professed late bloomer's weathered vocals." With a voice that can run from Paul Simon like kiss-for-a-baby to John Mellencamp apple coring Americana, Bud Buckley will move you with a balanced mix of originals and covers. Drawing strong comparisons to Paul Simon, Bob Dylan and Mark Knopfler, Bud Buckley has come on to the indie acoustic rock scene by blending thoughtful fingerstyle acoustic guitar with thoughtful vignette-style lyrics. His second CD, Its About Time, was released at the end of 2007 and brought more of the same musical stylings after his debut release, Feel My Love, in 2004. Overall, however, the 10-track CD has a more mature, refined tone. Cant Leave My Mind, features intricate strings precisely mixed while Buds thoughtful lyrics depict an endearing relationship. In it, he sings, You blow through my hair even when its still/ I feel you in everything youve touched/ You seep into me against my will. His track Underground offers a true acoustic rock sound ala John Mellencamp with a humane message as he sings, The air is getting filthy so well call it nice and clean/ The rivers run with mercury and the fish are turning mean. t’s About Time features appearances by a variety of noted musicians. Helen Avakian, a singer/songwriter who has opened for Mary Chapin Carpenter, Marshall Crenshaw and the New York Philharmonic, produced and contributed acoustic guitar as well as etherial back-up vocals to the album. Other musicians who contributed to It’s About Time include Terry Champlin played classical guitar. His music has been performed worldwide by such groups and artists as David Starobin, Evangelos and Liza, The Woodstock Chamber Orchestra and The Highlands Symphony. Grammy-nominated producer Scott Petito, who engineered, mixed and mastered at his NRS Studios in Woodstock, NY, and whose recording credits include The Band, James and Livingston Taylor, Mark Knopfler, Keith Richards, Bela Fleck, and Stevie Wonder, played bass, piano, B2 organ, acoustic and electric guitar. Deni Bonet, a Lilith Fair singer/songwriter/musician who has recorded and/or performed with REM, Sarah McLachlan and Cyndi Lauper, added violin, viola and electric violin. Beth Reineke served as a vocal coach and production assistant. Instrumentation Bud Buckley's solo act is just Bud on vocals and acoustic guitar. He can also use backing tracks from his CDs if desired by the venue. His critically acclaimed CD features Violinist Deni Bonet (toured with Cyndi Lauper and Sarah McLachlan), Helen Avakian (Award winning songwriter well known in the Hudson Valley) Scott Petito (bass player for the Fugs), and newcomer drummer Chris Carey from Brooklyn and Saratoga, NY.
