Raised between two potato fields on Prince Edward Island, Ashley Condon is the grandchild of Bill Leblanc, a Canadian country pioneer who once spent the night in jail with Hank Snow. On her debut EP, “I’ve Got This Feeling,” Ashley sings simple, poignant songs from the heart--to the soul. Her vocals are powerful and her lyrics are thoughtful; a testament to the artist’s strength as both a songwriter and entertainer. The success of her 2008 EP garnered the attention of Ontario native and ECMA-nominated producer Joel Hunt (Teresa Ennis). The two have joined creative forces for a highly anticipated fall 09’ release.
She sings, she acts, she can plug her nose with her upper lip. More than twelve years of stage experience and a degree in Theatre Studies from the joint Theatre Studies program at U of T and Sheridan College have honed Ashley’s natural ability to take a piece of music and bring it alive. It’s not uncommon for her to have a whole room full of people singing and laughing along with what she does.

Hailing from the East Coast of Canada with its progeny of Celtic and Acadian rooted music, and having been raised on old-time country, bluegrass, folk, blues and classic rock, Ashley finds a place for all those sounds in her music. She’s been likened to Emmylou Harris with the heart of Allison Krauss and the backbone of The Dixie Chicks.
26-year-old Condon has been winning audiences over with her larger-than-life stage presence and down-to-earth charm. She’s shared the stage with folk icons Tannis Slimmon, James Gordon, Jude Vadala (The Bird Sisters), Katherine Wheatley and Juno nominee Douglas John Cameron. She has opened for Canadian Folk Music Award Nominees, The Fugitives, and was invited to play at the 2007 Hillside Festival as a member of the Sam Turton Band.
