With roots all over North America, the Malvinas pull together a broad palette of regional colors including: the Blues-tinged grooves of the deep South, the spicy Cajun flavors of Louisiana, the Celtic modes of Eastern Canada and the libertarian troubadour tradition of the Lone Star State. In it for the long haul, their tight harmonies and quirky instrumentation create a high energy sound that never forgets that to make great music, you start with a great song.
The Malvinas have recently signed with the super fabulous indie label Soona Songs and are set to release a new record in 2009. The were also featured prominently on Tim Grimm's "Or Bust" Holding up the World (2008), which reached #1 on Folk DJ.
Appearances include: The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, Festival International Lafayette, The Kerrville Folk Festival, Memoire et Racines, Club Passim, The Black Sheep Inn, Uncle Calvin's, WFMT nationally syndicated The Midnight Special and Official Showcase Artists at the North American Folk Alliance and the Northeast Regional Folk Alliance (tri-centric) . . and a festival or coffee house near you!

Avec des racines ancrées un peu partout en Amérique du Nord - The Malvinas, trio féminin formé Lisa Markley, Gina Forsyth et Beth Cahill, possède un son sérieusement originel. Capricieuses, romantiques, terre-à-terre, tolérante, géniales, maternelles, indépendantes, passionnées, politiquement opiniâtres, et complètement différentes chacune des autres, elles travaillent dur:guitares, mandoline, violon, banjo, harmonies éblouissantes, et toute une gamme de compositions incluant : du blues du Sud profond, les saveurs épicées de la musique louisianaise, la musique celtique et la tradition des auteurs-compositeurs-interprètes.
