Artist Information Biography The Dixie Red Delights are a new gathering of some of Vermont’s most talented musicians. A colorful tapestry of sound, the Delights create infectiously soaked bluegrass, steeped in rural Americana and ensconced in alt-country rock. Featuring the original music of Erin McDermott, who has shared the stage with likes of Grammy Award winter Tim O’Brien, Mike Marshal and cult favorites Railroad Earth and Hot Buttered Rum, Erin has a song for every occasion that spans various genres and age groups. Local legend Doug Perkins, formerly of Smokin' Grass, is the best flat-picker north of the red states and east of the Mississippi. Doug adds a lush musical landscape to the Delights with his amazing ear for a melody and his fiery precision on anything with strings. Bass player Jen Wells accompanies the Delights with her rhythmically creative and jubilant bass lines. Jen has a vast knowledge of the music, which adds yet another layer to the Delights sound. Ben Roy is the finest young talent in Vermont. With impeccable timing and marvelously exciting rhythms, Ben Roy "smokes". A true Delight! Sitting in from time time: Matt Schrag on Madolin who hails from Philly Pennsylvania and currently in hot demand, plays with a number of groups in the North East including Hot Pickin Party and the Gordon Stone band. Patrick Ross on Fiddle, formerly of the Nashville based band Blue Merl, is one of the most talented fiddle players in North America.
