Biography
Three Texans obsessed with world music met one day and had a baby. That baby was Raga Fuck.
Raga Fuck is a nutritional feast to provide refuge from the potato, pasta, and rice sandwich that is the average band.
There is no electric guitar, bass guitar, drum set or keyboard, only handmade instruments from 5 continents and weirdos making sounds on them who don't take themselves too seriously and want you to have a good time while opening your mind.
We have instrumental and lyrical songs, some based on words thrown out by the audience on that day, some laboriously written for weeks on end, some funny, some serious, and all Raga Fuckalicous.
There are songs such as Cancion de Corazon, a Mexican Ranchero song in spanish that includes sitar, jews harp and throat singing. There is also Chong wa, a song with Tuvan throat singing, the Chinese harp and sitar as well as la montanya, an Andean song with the Peruvian Charango sung in spanish with Indian Hindustani Vocals.
We aim to give people something new instead of the same old tired shit. A Raga is an Indian melodic mode. Fuck is a word many of us say several times a day that could be the most versatile word in the English language. "Fuck" is internationally recognized as a word that for better or for worse, is a ship with many flags in the ocean of expression.
Our politically correct name is "Raga Nova." We sincerely mean no offense to any people or culture. Now smile and enjoy...
