Since he was a young boy, he has chosen to wrap his life around music. For the past five years, Roth has been performing regularly at venues throughout Connecticut New York, and touring intermittently through MA, NH, VT and CO. In his early days of performing, he began as one half of an acoustic duo which after two years evolved into a full band, in which he played lead electric guitar. The members of "Fountain Project" eventually went their separate ways, but not before making a local name for themselves and performing at musically respected venues such Toad’s Place in New Haven and CBGB’s in NYC. Glenn, having already developed a following and a reputation as a uniquely talented guitarist through his prior performances, then launched his solo career full force with regular performances in and around the Connecticut area, expanding into New York, and eventually other parts of New England, and Colorado. Currently, in 2007, Glenn Roth has become a respected veteran in the music scene, and nearly a household name in much of CT. Glenn has performed with or opened for many musical acts, including Don Ross, Antoine DuFour, Erik Mongrain, and Tuck and Patti. When not performing, Glenn teaches guitar to a roster of private students, and gives guitar instruction to young hopefuls out of the Branford, CT music store, “A Sound Choice.” Fast Facts about Glenn Roth: ~Glenn has been chosen via audition to become a life time permit holder under the MUNY Program (Music Under New York). ~His music is featured on a 2007 2-disc compilation by the music publication: PLAY, (New Haven, CT) ~Has been interviewed and/or receives airplay on: Bloomberg NYC Radio, NPR, WNHU, WESU, WHUS (In The Groove, Jazz and Beyond), as well as stations in Florida and Spain. ~Featured in a 2006 music documentary DVD film entitled: "300 Mondays," (New Haven, CT) ~Endorsed by Elixer Strings for the past 4 years ~Enjoyed a stint as the regularly featured guitarist on the television show "Simply Cooking." ~Has been filmed in NYC for a documentary which will be aired in England.
