Biography
"To say that [Carolyn] Sills' singing is sultry is an immense understatement... her vocals resonate with a throaty anguish, torch songs sung straight from the heart... The effect is mesmerizing." - Michael Dregni, Vintage Guitar Magazine

Carolyn Sills, vocalist, bassist and songwriter, has gained an international reputation for being the small bassist with the big voice. No doubt a highlight of Sills’ career was when she was asked to sit in with the late, legendary Les Paul as a guest vocalist at the Iridium Jazz Club, recreating the songs he made famous with Mary Ford.

For the past three years, Carolyn has been touring Europe with Boss Tweed, her dark blues & rock n' roll twang trio, with which she recorded a full length, self-titled album (2005), a vinyl 45 (2007) and a 5 song EP, called Five Little Lies (2008). Sills also lends her voice to the music of Patsy Cline, touring the country as Carolyn Sills & The Poor Man’s Roses, giving fans a chance to experience hearing Patsy’s songs performed live with unbelievable authenticity.

With a four song sampler  from Carolyn’s  upcoming solo release now available for download, emails have been pouring in from new fans asking why they are only now hearing about Carolyn and her music. One of these tracks, George Bailey, a love song for Jimmy Stewart’s character in It’s A Wonderful Life, is on its way to becoming a classic holiday hit. "This (George Bailey) is one of my favorite Christmas singles, not only this year by the way, of the past 10 or 15..." - Paul Richards, WHLI New York.

These outstanding accomplishments have been created for Carolyn, by Carolyn and she is ready for the next step- quality management to take her to the next level. In her own words:

I've been fortunate enough to play everywhere from Brooklyn to Berlin. I've sung under the big dipper on a cobble stone street in Mostar, Bosnia, played a biker rally in Split, Croatia, was electrocuted in Correggio, Italy, and had my bass stolen in London and returned to me in Maribor, Slovenia. I've swum in the Adriatic sea, driven from from Seattle to Maine and eaten homemade spatzel in Oberstdorf, Germany. I've been asked to sing 'Crazy' three times in one set for hundreds of rowdy elderly folk, have sat in with Les Paul at the Iridum Jazz Club and was told by one woman that listening to my Christmas single (George Bailey) over and over again helped her finish a 5K race. I am one lucky lady and I owe it all to music.
