Biography
In 2005, when high school pals Matt Schellenberg and Bucky Driedger moved into a house on Lipton Street, dubbed �Liptonia,� and started making music, the outcome seemed uncertain. Two and a half years later they emerged with an �earnest little pop-rock gem... liberally sprinkled with singalong choruses [and] ear-worm hooks� (Uptown Magazine). The eleven-song collection weaves through piano-driven, horn-laden pop tunes, guitars feeding back through rock �n� roll grooves, and subdued folk songs, wrapped up in noise.
Much to the shock of its creators, this basement-recorded album charted across Canada on college radio, garnered many accolades in local media, and went on to win the Western Canadian Music Award for Outstanding Pop Recording in 2008.
The now five-piece band (rounded out by Michael Petkau, Darren Grunau, and Terrell Froese) has honed its live performance into a warmly inviting and hugely dynamic show. This year the band has been hard at work playing shows across Canada and writing a new record due out in 2010.
