Biography
Universal Rebel is a Hip Hop Dub Band composed of six prominent bandleaders from the New York/New Jersey Metropolitan area. ADEO, founder & emcee, is the co-founder & lead vocalist of RAINation. He has opened up for Kanye West, Common, Black Eyed Peas, Talib Kweli, Ludacris, Wyclef, The Roots, Cee-Lo, Robert Randolph, Julian Marley, Luciano, and an array of other artists. Adeo has teamed with Steve-z aka Humanoid, of No Use for Humans, Evil Dub, and Soul Amputation, on beats and rhythms. Complimented by the electronic blues stylings of Comack (of‘MurphDog’) on keys. Rich (Chado) on the low end theory, Willie Carmona on trumpet and hand percussion, and the mighty, mighty Mike Biskup on the guit.
Our live show consists of Multi-Media Video Projection that features independent art, video, graffiti, comical anecdotes, and tons of eye candy. The Music can’t be put in a box but you’re guaranteed Rock steady Rhythms, beats, & Wisdom.
We believe in the progression of humanity as a whole. With the conscious lyrics of Adeo, you can hear the passion he has for life. When combined with the beats and music of Universal Rebel the songs transform into something unique. With influences from Jack Johnson and Ben Harper to Cannon Ball Aderly and John Coltrane, Jay-Z and Common Sense to Stone Temple Pilots and Beck, Bob Marley to Miles Davis, Martin Luther King to Chris Matthews.
