Artist Information Biography Over the past several years numerous musicians have grown out of the Brooklyn music scene to hold great respect in the community of the jazz world. A personal creative approach to composition, and a cooperative approach to the business side have made the Brooklyn jazz scene an innovative grooming ground for the next generation of jazz artists. One of the most creative artists on that field is drummer/composer Tim Kuhl. Kuhl has maintained his own ensemble while having performed with a number of jazz greats such as Mike Formanek, Josh Roseman, & Alan Ferber to name just a few. His compositional genius, aided by his masterful approach to the drum kit place him in the forefront of the young artist jazz community. Tim relocated to New York City in 2003 where he has been busy, as a sideman, playing in all genres of music. He consistently curates monthly nights of music in NYC and since March 2006 has had monthly residency at the Lakeside Lounge in the East Village, with his jazz group. He is the drummer for internationally acclaimed rock band The Izzys, and is the leader of his critically acclaimed jazz ensemble, Tim Kuhl Group and several avante-garde groups. He also is the drummer for C. Gibbs, Magnets for Teeth, The Junkman Band, Less Than Treason and many others. Tim released GHOST his debut as a leader in 2008 featuring his original compositions, and has released his second album KING in the spring 2009. He has enjoyed successful touring all over the U.S. Canada, England, Whales, Scotland, Ireland, Japan, Korea, Guam, and U.S Marshal Islands. Instrumentation GHOST / March 2008.
