Biography
Quiet Company strives to write music that is both epic and accessible and our live show is packed with surprising amounts of energy and passion. Our first record was released on Northern Records in 2005 and was titled "Shine Honesty." HM magazine had this to say about it:
"This is dramatic pop music of the highest order, mostly piano-led with some stunning synth orchestrations supporting some killer tunes... (4 out of 5 stars)"
We've just finished our second record which we will be releasing in March 2009. The record is titled "Everyone You Love Will Be Happy Soon," and it's full of more of what you love about Quiet Company: honest, epic, pop music full of dynamic arrangements and deeply personal lyricism.
The band has influences such as: The Beatles, Neil Young, The Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, Pixies, Aretha Franklin, The Smiths, Elliott Smith, Starflyer 59, Luxury, Simon & Garfunkel, Mazzy Star, etc.
This review from "The Album Project" sums up Quiet Company nicely.
"If members of The Decemberists, Death Cab For Cutie and Limbeck joined forces they would sound like Quiet Company (and that would be a good thing). I know labeling the band indie folk/rock can be pretty generic but tracks like “Golden” and “On Husbands & Wives” proves the band is anything but. ‘Everyone You Love Will Be Happy Soon’ is a terrific offering from the band and sure to make them a name on everyone’s lips soon enough."
