Artist Information Biography Aryn Michelle began writing music at the age of 15 years old and now she just can't stop. She's thus far written, co-produced and released seven indie demo albums of her own original material and her professional debut album "Lockless Heart" was released in May 2009. Many describe her style as "fringe pop" with a flavor of country and a pinch of jazz. Not only does she write music but she sings, plays the piano, guitar and is picking up the harmonica! Aryn Michelle began her love for music early in life singing in church. She participated heavily in the arts through public school participating in band, choir, ensemble and solo competition, chamber choir, musical theater, and theater. She chose to go to college to pursue a degree in music from Southwestern University. During her time at Southwestern, Aryn released 5 demos of her own original songwriting material all recorded and produced with the help of other Southwestern University students. Aryn Michelle graduated from Southwestern University with a Bachelor of Arts summa cum laude in Music and Communication. After graduation, she worked for the AmeriCorps*VISTA program during the day and on nights and weekends focused on touring around Georgetown and Austin, Texas. After a year of working and gigging, she decided to go back to school for Master's work. Aryn Michelle completed a certificate from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA with a major in Songwriting in May 2009. While at Berklee, Aryn Michelle released her sixth demo entitled "So Clearly" and her seventh project "LIGHT." While at Berklee Aryn was honored with the Scott Benson Award in Songwriting and was invited to perform in the 2008 Performing Songwriter Showcase, the 2009 Songwriting Awards Show and the 25th Annual Singer's Showcase, where she shared the stage with Paula Cole and Lalah Hathaway. In 2008 she was chosen as a finalist in the ISSA categories of "Best New Artist" and "Song of the Year" for her song "Embraces." In 2009 she was selected as the grand prize winner for her song "Crave" in a drug and alcohol abuse awareness campaign. She has also recently been selected as a Southwest Regional Finalist in the Mountain Stage NewSong Contest for her song, "Adam and Eve's Daughter." In her last year at Berklee Aryn joined forces with up and coming producer Phillip Ferrell to complete her first professional indie album. This album entitled "Lockless Heart" was released in May 2009. Aryn Michelle has since relocated back to Dallas, TX where she writes and performs full time.
