Artist Information Biography For Stephanie Pauline, singing and writing songs came like breathing or laughing -- it’s just always been a part of who she is and what she does. As a child she had a spot beneath a weeping willow tree where she remembers pouring out her heart to God in song. Though Stephanie’s parents were Christians and did their very best for her, some ongoing familial issues culminated in what Stephanie calls "five years of darkness." Feeling completely forgotten by God, Stephanie wound up dropping out of school, and at sixteen left home and moved in with an abusive young man. All was lost to her: her dreams, her hopes, her songs and her God. Drugs, and all that goes with them, became a way of life for Stephanie: despair, violence, robberies, dealing . . . total darkness. This was the state she was in when she became pregnant. Though it seemed to be her darkest hour, Stephanie’s crisis pregnancy served as a turning point and the beginning of a personal reawakening. When her son was born, she says, she "stared into the face of a real, live miracle.” Deep inside she dared to hope: "Perhaps God hasn't completely forgotten me.” God began moving across the face of her heart and breathed beauty into her brokenness. After years of silence she sang a song to the Lord, and he met her there among the willows of her heart. God used every wound, every wrong committed, to teach her the truth about his faithfulness. Not long after, God impressed upon her a passion to sing, speak and write about her life and his great love. Since then, Stephanie has carried her heartfelt witness of God's healing love to thousands of avid listeners. Her sincere lyrics, compelling melodies, powerful storytelling and live performances have gained her an audience worldwide. With songs being played on more than 500 radio stations and in more than 30 countries, Stephanie has seen many of her girlhood dreams reborn, and then fulfilled. Three of Stephanie’s songs landed in the top 10 on Christian Radio Weekly’s Global Inspirational and Adult Contemporary charts, as well as on the Euro New Christian Music chart this past year. Stephanie plays the piano and guitar and has co-produced all of her recordings to date. Her last two recording projects brought her to Nashville and Los Angeles, where she worked with some of the industry's best studio musicians. She performed more than 80 concerts in 2006 and 2007 and is in the throes of another 80-date tour now in 2009. The driving force behind all that Stephanie does is best stated in the mission statement of More than Music, Inc., the nonprofit ministry she founded in 2004: “to revolutionize the culture at large, one heart at a time, until everyone on earth knows and lives the love that is in Jesus Christ.” Thirty percent of her concerts are performed in detention centers and drug rehab facilities, and she has been on several mission trips. Stephanie Pauline has seen firsthand the extensive physical and spiritual destitution that plagues most of this planet. Her heart’s cry is to see Christ’s healing and blessings flow all around the world. She has vowed to take this message God has given her as far as he will allow her to go.
