Biography
Megan King started her musical career in her bedroom at the age of 16, tooling around with an Ibanez electric guitar.  For the past 11 years, Megan has honed in on her craft, playing all over the nation and at regional showcases such as the Ohio River Valley Folk Festival in 2006 where she opened the stages for artists such as Roger McGuinn (The Byrds), Todd Snider, and Lucy Kaplansky.  Megan also performed in this year's Midpoint Music Festival in Cincinnati.

In January 2008, Megan recorded her first complete solo project in which there was no outside help on (aside from final mastering).  She picked 8 conceptual songs and entitled the album, Pretty Songs LP.  She wanted to do what she did best, pretty songs.  All instruments, vocals, production, and artwork for the album was done by King.

King believes that "..many musicians get watered down in the studio by other influences, and you aren't experiencing the true vulnerability and passion that they have,"  and "as much as we like something that sounds great, we miss out sometimes on the beautiful imperfections that make a piece of art human.  We work so hard on perfecting something, instead of what's more important--relating that piece to your audience and getting a message across that they can relate to."

Aside from King humbly recalling her imperfections, the latest album's work has gotten rave review, doted on by Whatzup Magazine as: "fantastic, full of emotive vocals and impassioned acoustic-based tunes," and "King did everything herself here, from the capable, full-sounding audio production to the artwork, and her hard work certainly pays off."

Megan believes that "Music has the ability to heal us ...I was able to record these tracks in the privacy of my own basement, amidst the creaks and hums of a hot water heater, the interruptions of a telephone, or the rattle of my dog's collar as she whined for me to let her outside.  These songs are unashamedly naked and transparent.  They are the liminal spaces that we forget... the sometimes too-hard-to-ask questions... he secrets we never tell."
