Artist Information Biography Beth Kohnen and Rusty Zinn are an amplified Chicago Blues duo with a sound that is at once thoroughly traditional and utterly personal. Beth's compelling harmonica style is radiantly sweet and also full of deep grindy Chicago tone. Rusty is the first choice accompanist for the world's finest harmonica players. Together they offer the kind of playing that reminds you why Chicago style harp remains fresh, valid and meaningful more than 60 years after its birth. Beth has two well received CD's to her name and is in process of recording her third (and fourth) with Rusty. Rusty Zinn, a guitar maestro of the first order, was nominated for the very prestigious W.C. Handy Award. His own discography includes 5 critically acclaimed recordings. Beth grew up in South Portland, Maine and graduated from Syracuse University in music and art. She met Rusty in 1998 in the San Francisco East Bay while sitting in on harmonica with Grammy Award winning Steve Freund. In September 2008 Beth quit her day job and spent six weeks in Paris playing blues at La Caveau de la Huchette. Rusty and Beth are available for booking as a duo or with a full dance band.
