WHAT WE CAN DO:
Green Sweater Society is a high energy rock band with strong, catchy, original music and a harmonious library of cover songs. Their sound is flexible enough for a College Show, a Popular Sports Bar, a Rock or Indie Venue, a Teen Center, County Fair and many others.
GSS prefers to play hour long sets but also has the rare ability to fill 4 hours if requested with like minded cover songs that people know and love.
GSS performs mostly in Minnesota but has and will travel to the following states: Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, North Dakota, and South Dakota (other states are open by request).
HISTORY:
Green Sweater Society started with Steve and the band's original name of Running Down Renee in late 2004. At that time they were a folk rock band.
Over the last couple years they have had the opportunity to play throughout the city sharing the stage with such acts as: Fastball, Bowling For Soup, Throw the Fight, Tim Mahoney, Jesse Lang, These Green Eyes, Crash Anthem, The Motion Pilots and many more.
Because their sound and lineup had changed so drastically from it's original inception they decided to change their name in June of 2008 (in tandem with their EP release) to capture their new musical path, and chose GREEN SWEATER SOCIETY. In late 2008 they received over 5000 plays with their song "Constance, Please" on college and independent radio across the country.
GSS is currently recording their next EP, (Love Songs) slated for a February release and anticipate a busy year in 2010.
