Artist Information Biography Ibby is a folk rock 'n roll singer, songwriter, and professional musician originally from Southern California who calls the mountains South and West of Boulder home. She was given the Beatles Rubber Soul and Revolver LPs when she was little and there was no turning back after that. She taught herself how to play guitar and sing at the age of twelve, and wrote her first song in college at nineteen. While Ibbys musical sensibility took root in loving and listening to the Beatles, her musical tastes branched out from there and today her music reflects a broad tapestry of styles and genres; folk, rock and roll, pop, bluegrass, and American roots music. The breadth of this tapestry is reflected in the many artists who have influenced her songwriting and her life -- too many to list here, in fact. Some have described Ibbys sound as gutsy and honest, and "edgy, dark and angelic at the same time." Though it may defy simple categorization (like most good music), her sound is uniquely her own. Ibby counts many well known musicians among her musical friends and collaborators. She has performed in Denver at Herman's Hideaway, in Boulder at the Fox Theatre, the RockNSoul Cafe, the Boulder Outlook and Conor O Neills, Oskar Blues in Lyons, Nederland, Coal Creek Canyon, Durango, Vail, Beaver Creek, and near Colorado Springs, Colorado. She has also performed in Cheyenne, Laramie, Hastings, Lexington, Nashville, San Diego, Riverside, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. She has shared the stage with Lee Johnson, Carey Colvin, Benny and the Wayward Sons, Arthur Lee, Nick Forster, Wendy Woo, Hazel Miller, Boulder Acoustic Society, Soundrabbit, and Yonder Mountain String Band. Her music has received airplay on KGNU Boulder and on the Fox Sports Network. She is currently and continuously writing, rewriting, refining, improving and demo-ing tracks for her debut CD.
