Three-part vocals, brass and guitar; Travelin’ Light is about taking jazz tunes and standards and finding new things to say with them. “Bright Moments” and “From This Moment On” meeting for the first time; Peaches En Regalia performed w. original lyrics covering every note in Zappa’s opus; “But Not For Me” with Chet Baker’s signature intro and solo lyricized; “Peggy’s Blue Skylight” with each of Mingus’ ferocious parts and Booker Irvin’s solo covered...
Instrumentation
Travelin’ Light singers are Steve Provizer (leader, also on trumpet and trombone), Gabriella Snyder and Ed Meradith (also on bass). Nick Grondin is our fine guitarist. The musicians are all veterans of jazz, rock and classical music who now find themselves on the same harmonic page.
