Artist Information Biography Hardcore. If there's one word that comes to mind when thinking of Haydn Cole, it's that. From his devotion to music and composition to his interest in yoga and leading a healthy lifestyle, Haydn is not one for doing things half-heartedly. Originally hailing from Malibu, CA, the 24-year-old musician moved with his family to Miami, Fla. as a child and began singing and writing songs in elementary school. In high school, after moving three hours north to Vero Beach, Fla., he began playing guitar and found his voice singing to friends and family at his local church and school on a regular basis. Though Haydn entered university at Rollins College with an interest in medicine, he couldn't deny a growing preoccupation with playing music every free chance he had. Before long, trusting a gut-feeling and with peace in his heart, Haydn transferred to Berklee College of Music in the summer of 2005. Now, after graduating in spring of 2009, Haydn is heading to the Big Apple! "I use music to relate and communicate to others my feelings about life and love," Haydn says of his own work. And certainly, when hearing such works as "Diamonds" (April 2009) or "How We Move" (Feb. 2008), it's easy to understand that. Driven by their intimate and glaringly honest vocals, much of Haydn's acoustic works hit hard even without a full band backing. Haydn feels an intense spiritual connection to all he writes, sincerely believing that God plays a part both in his inspiration and in the final composition. With a good ear for melodic choruses and all the training of a virtuoso, Haydn's music is marked by its unique blend of fresh sounds and easily accessible themes. The bottom line, he feels, is simply "to make great music for everyone."
