Biography Upon digital release (6/25/09) "Keeping Time" charted in Amazon Top 20 Downloads. Jenny Dee made her start with notable Boston bands, The Downbeat 5 and The Dents, before deciding to indulge her love for the girl group and soul sounds of the 1960's. After assembling The Deelinquents - a band made up of friends from other local notable bands (Papas Fritas, The Gravel Pit, The Gentlemen) – she recorded a 2-song single in a weekend with producers Matt Beaudoin and Ed Valauskas (Eli “Paperboy” Reed) at Q Division. “There isn't a music on earth that better suits D'Angora's voice than girl-group-era R&B, straight-up, and that's what she's singing here -- with bonus points for writing songs that hold their own next to the classics. (There's a Daptone-like quality to her recordings that makes you do audio double-takes: are you sure this sh*t wasn't recorded in 1964?)” – The Boston Phoenix Jenny Dee & The Deelinquents are just back from a successful tour in Spain, both headling and supporting Eli “Paperboy” Reed – which included an appearance at the Azkena Rock Festival with The Breeders and Juliette Lewis. The band has just released a 7" single featuring their version of The Flamin' Groovies "Shake Some Action" on the Spanish Lovemonk Label, as well as a 5-song EP that is available at shows and on iTunes.
