Biography Fans of Regina Spektor and Katie Melua, meet new Russian-born songstress, Alisa Shamrow. Trekking to New York City from Moscow at the ripe age of one, this prolific singer/songwriter enchants with elegant vocals and inspired material from blues to folk to alternative. Alisa's other contemporaries include Norah Jones, Sara Bareilles, Rachael Yamagata, Tori Amos, Brandi Carlile, Amy Winehouse, Adele, Duffy, Missy Higgins, Ingrid Michaelson and Lizz Wright. Male contemporaries include John Mayer, Amos Lee, Michael Buble and Joshua Radin. Alisa was recently named "Siren of the Week" by Hearst Corp's UGO.com. Her song "Run Run Run" was featured on Tumblr.com's homepage, called RADAR, and received 500+ plays in 48 hours.
