Artist Information Biography Drawing from the likes of Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Link Wray, Sabbath, Slayer & Black Flag, The Deuce And A Quarter combine the hard-hitting sound of Metal and Punk with the influence of 50's rock and Outlaw Country. Natives of the Big Apple, The Deuce And & Quarter have played every venue from CBGBs, The Knitting Factory Main Space to Brooklyn's NorthSix. The group's various releases received airplay at Barnard College, SUNY Purchase, Cayuga College at Auburn and WALF Suny Alfred Radio. New York musician and filmmaker Vickers Gringo formed THe Deuce & A Quarter in the interest of creating a sound that was "vintage enough to print to 78 Vinyl," and contemporary enough to contend with the mightiest of bands. They debuted in front of an audience of 500 at a college auditorium and the crowd reaction was overwhelming. Their theatrics however, which included drinking fake blood and "worshiping" the head of a goat nearly caused the members to be suspended from school. To solidify their vision, the band looked to comic book and film imagery. For a logo, the band settled on the depiction of a rat with a halo over its head, brandishing a diamond and a spade. Gringo's design went on to become a best-selling t-shirt in New York City. In 2007, Gringo teamed up with Bassist Patrick Soriano to reform the group with a fresh new sound; delivering their signature punk-metal anthems, albeit Gringo's cool 1960s guitars and rockabilly vocals. Joining the band on drums is Jerry Rimesso (formerly of Grimoire.) His style recalls the likes of Marky Ramone, Mikkey Dee (Motorhead) and Peter Criss (kiss.) Soriano, whose main influences are Rush and Devin Townsend, brings a bottom heavy bass sound to the group, which has a clear and massive overdriven presence. Incorporating film and theatrical devices for the stage to enhance their shows, the band produces provocative films and animated cartoons, projected on stage to their live music. Drawing inspiration from films such as Mad Max, The Wild One, Grindhouse and animated cartoons, their wild onstage visuals enhance the complexity of their message.
