Artist Information Biography Revolutionary Side Effects (RSE) was formed in the City of North Hollywood, CA by L.A. native Josh Baldwin (Drums, Percussion) and Baltimore, MD transplant Michael Blumberg (Guitar, Vocals, Keys, Bass) in the fall of 2004. Baldwin had been performing with several local bands/musicians including: Brian Jordan (Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Lauryn Hill), Stew/The Negro Problem, Third Grade Teacher and Ferdinand. Blumberg had come out to LA after co-producing two albums and playing lead guitar with Baltimore based rock band, The Hank. Simultaneously, their prior musical experiences had awakened in both, the desire to begin writing and producing a different kind of music. This led Baldwin and Blumberg to find each other as so many do, through an ad placed on Craigslist. The duo got together for the first time in a NoHo rehearsal space, and quickly realized that together, they had a very unique sound, like a guitar/drum rhythm section. They began cultivating their craft and after only a few short months, their newly formed "Revolutionary Side Effects" was invited to perform at the 2005 NoHo Arts Festival in Downtown North Hollywood. Throughout the past few years, RSE has toured on both US coasts and a few states in between, as well as performing at the 2007 Wakarusa Music Festival in Lawrence, KS, alongside such bands as Medeski, Martin & Wood, Little Feat and Ben Harper. They have also been invited to open for such amazing artists as: Maceo Parker (James Brown, P-Funk, Prince), Les Claypool’s Electric Apricot, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, The Samples, Raq, New MasterSounds and many more. RSE’s most recent release, The “North Hollywood” EP, was written, recorded, mixed and produced by Baldwin and Blumberg at their Cleon St. rehearsal studio. Both Musically and visually through the CD’s artwork, the recording is representative of their take on the unique sights, sounds and cultures of the band's hometown. In addition, RSE produced a brief Electronic Press Kit/Mini Documentary with the help of great friend, Tim Ciancio (Indie Visuals Independent Productions). The video paints a picture of the band’s story, and the process of producing the “North Hollywood” EP.
