Artist Information Biography A brief history.... Begun in 2005 as a collaborative musical studio project Winterpark, soon evolved into a live band that merged elements of sound design, pop, electronica and noise. 2006 saw the release of the debut album 'One Night Alone'. 2007 saw the band take on the world with an adventure that saw them film a clip in the back alleys of Brooklyn, play at Iceland's airwaves festival parties for free drinks, carry equipment on the Paris underground to play Parties, travel to Prague to play at a bookstore, and write songs in a makeshift apartment in Berlin. 2008 saw Winterpark back n home turf, independently releasing 'Falling Men and Flying Dreams' and a subsequent east coast album launch tour. 2009 brings a new chapter. Some album review quotes... "... as sweet as they come, and deserves to be massive." Clem Bastow - Inpress "**** (four stars)" Lee Van Tram - Rolling Stone "It's an absolute corker." Nick Clarke - Beat Magazine "Dismiss the beginner's luck - Melbourne duo Winterpark is out to prove that it's something special." Brooke Salisbury - Drum Media "There has been a relative explosion of so-called electro pop acts in Australia recently. Some are very good, and some are very, very bad. Winterpark clearly fall into the 'very good' category, blending a mixture of swirling nu-gaze pop with tight electro beats and programming, emotive vocals and often beautiful melodies." "Winterpark take various influences and build upon them in such a way as to come up with something new and inspired, something that stands out from the pap we are currently having forced upon us." Tim Burke - Inpress "Hooked could be the lost contribution to the Sixteen Candles soundtrack" Craig Mathieson - SMH "The band are very good at what they do" Roger Nelson - Inpress "From Hewitt's rich sweet vocals through to the ambient, cinematic backing tracks, there is much to like here." David Butler - Canberra Times "Swirling opener Planes and the droning So Far, are carried along by vocal harmonies recalling My Bloody Valentine's halcyon days..." Denis Semchenko - Rave Magazine Instrumentation Matt Ridgway and friends. Discography "One Night Alone" 2007 11 track album "Falling Men and Flying Dreams" 2008 12 track album Links
