Most people travel to the valleys of heartache or endure the eye of life’s tempest before they can emerge with songs that grip the human experience; but Nathan Brumley went hiking. Following high school, he spent his formative years as a contractor building recreational trails to high mountain lakes and fishing parks. It would be here in the visible grandeur of God’s handywork that his music, as we know it today, would be born. And just like prolific songwriters before him who have drawn inspiration from the expanse of God’s nature, Nathan’s music also encompasses the power of one who’s come face to face with that beauty.

“...Show me a sign, show me a trace of life a passion in your eyes
Show me a sign, give me a glimpse of life a hint of hope inside
Show me a sign, tell me the reason why the easy answer is so hard to find...”

- Show Me a Sign

With an unassuming demeanor and physical stature of a nature man, it’s easy to pass him by in the street and never know he’s garnered two recording contracts (Incubator Records & Bethel Records) and toured abundantly in the church and coffee house circuits leaving his musical mark in the Christian music scene. As if that wasn’t enough, he won Embassy Music’s national songwriting contest in 2000 which subsequently led to his move from Boise, ID to the music mecca of the south Nashville, TN. He’s now inked a publishing/A&R deal with Embassy and completed his 5th full length album with Dove award winning engineer and producer Brent Hendrich. His music is clearly remindful of piano banging crooners like the late Keith Green, Michael W. Smith, and Ben Folds 5. And with that is accompanied by a heart that is equally clear in the vision to speak to the church and reach the lost.
In spite of his musical depth and richness there is a simplicity in him which prevails. A simplicity which beckons the rest of us to return to that which is fundamental; to that which is Christ-like. A call that ushers us to that tranquil place so reminiscent of his formative years back in the intimacy and simplicity of God’s creation.
