earBuzz Review:
The CD ends with a cover version of Stevie Nicks, "Gypsy", done with Aimz's signature wonderfully. Overall the record is a gem - a real artistic effort from a talented singer/songwriter who is carving his own voice. Don Kimenker (USA)

‘Melbourne based rock singer’

(Russ is currently locked away in his recording studio, working on album number two. To be self released in 2010. The first finished single off it "Same Land". Can be heard now on the player)

Living in the outer suburbs of Melbourne, Australia, Russ Aimz is finding more than enough inspiration to stoke his songwriting fires. His Style of original mesmerizing rock/pop earthy ballads, combined with a fun ‘head straight for the sky’ playful and upbeat rock vibe that takes the audience by surprise.

Now with his sights firmly set on USA and in particular New York, LA and Texas. With hopes of broadening his fan base and finding new audiences, Russ has always wanted to travel to America. For as long as he can remember,  he has felt strongly drawn there.

Russ’s debut album is suitably titled ‘Cruze’ excellent for long drives for one, it is released independently. The first track ‘The Grampians Song’ is currently receiving local airplay (Aus). The album also includes a rock’n cover version of Fleetwood Mac’s 80’s hit ‘Gypsy’. Self-promotion has been Russ’s strong point for this album, never missing an opportunity to reach potential new music lovers.  Recently joining MYSPACE has seen Russ gain a lot of new fans, Peter Gabriel and the legendary David Bowie are now fans too. http://www.myspace.com/httpwwwmyspacecomrussaimz

Continuing to develop his live performing skills and to create and perform new material along with the ongoing self-promotion of his album ‘CRUZE’ is where Russ is today.

Influences: Billy Idol, David Bowie, Paul Kelly, James Reyne, Bono,  Madonna and Mick Jagger

Airplay: Currently receiving USA local and college airplay with the opening album track ‘The Grampians Song’. Plus Australia wide community radio spins with 3 singles, ‘Laura’, ‘Gypsy’ and ‘Brand Nu Day’.
